How It Works - OST Recovery Software
Recoveryfix for OST to PST software provides complete recovery of corrupt Exchange offline file (OST) without establishing any connection with the server or MS Outlook platform. It also lets you to preview and restore the recovered data items within the same recovery cycle. The ‘how it works’ section is presented to describe the complete working of the tool with step-by-step illustrations.
Step 1: As soon you launch the tool, it lands to the welcome screen of the tool.
Click ‘Browse’ button to specify the path of OST file.
Step 2: Use ‘Open’ button to select the respective OST file.
Step 3: Select from any of the two modes: standard mode and advanced mode, and click ‘Next’ to initiate the recovery process. Standard mode is ideal for handling minor corruption problems, whereas advanced mode efficiently deals with severe corruption issues.
The tool then scans and repairs the damages in OST file. However, the user can ‘Stop’ the recovery process.
Step 4: Get complete visibility of recovered items in Preview Pane. The user can quick sort items based on different parameters – priority, item type, from, attachments, subject, date/time and lost/deleted.

Check or uncheck the folders to view items of specific folders.
Step 5: Save in MS Outlook
To save OST file in Outlook, select PST or MSG file option.
An optional split option is provided to trim large-sized PST file into smaller chunks with various options: split after 1GB/1.5GB/2GB/2.5GB/3GB/3.5GB.
Save in Outlook Express (DBX)
Select DBX/EML file format to restore recovered OST file in OE store.
Step 6: Select browse button to specify the location to save recovered file.
Step 7: Check mark on ‘Remove IPM_SUBTREE from hierarchy in Outlook’ if you do not wish to restore the original hierarchy of Outlook mailbox. Also, you can uncheck ‘Attach prefix to Store Name’ to avoid the prefix name. click ‘Ok’ button to save the files.
The tool then saves all the items from source to target file, while preserving original data integrity.
Step 8: Upon the completion of saving process, the tool provides the target path link ensuring that the data has been saved successfully.
